The two knights Cabrit and Bassa are still revered as heroes: after the conquest of the castle by Alfonso the brave fighters were burned alive. Your urns are kept in the cathedral of Palma. You can reach the castle ruins on foot or by car (signposted). From the Landgasthof "Es Verger" you should definitely go on foot, as the road is very bad from here. However, the route is very attractive. The View from Castell extends with a clear view to Palma and to the southeast coast. From the castle, a trail leads to the summit of the mountain. There, the view is even better, and there are refreshments in a small inn. After a day of hiking you can relax in Alaro. Alaro is one of the most charming villages in the interior of the island, which have far gone from hotels and mass tourism to preserve beauty. Here you can buy in small shops individual crafts to purchase at the weekly market fresh local produce and served on the Plaza of coffee or a Mallorcan wine.
