As early as 1917 to 1964 there was a rail link between the island's capital Palma de Malloca Santanyi and the city in the southeast. Of this, however, is nothing remained, neither tracks nor paths. Now, however, initial studies of experts will draw up, as the Südstrecke could be revived. Although this project is not for the current legislative term consideration, but first steps have been taken. Long term it is planned, with the introduction of the cities of Palma, Llucmajor, Campos, Santanyi, Felanitx and Manacor.
