Due to the economic crisis limit the hotels and restaurants on the Spanish holiday island of Majorca in the media this summer, according to the employment of additional staff drastically. As the newspaper "Diario de Mallorca" on Saturday reported to be around 15th 000 seasonal workers are not as yet for half a year to be employed, but only for two or three months. The companies in the tourism industry which normally moved in April usual recruitment of additional staff to the June.
The industry associations pointed out that these workers in fact only in the high season in July and August would be required if the hotels on the island were almost completely booked. The company had in the past, but mostly temporary workers already in the spring set, because they feared that in the high season no person more qualified to find. In times of economic crisis, this is no longer possible.
The tourism industry is, according to the newspaper understands that the hotel beds on the island of Majorca in July and August, again largely be substantiated. For the months of May and June, however, a decline in the number of tourists to five to ten percent compared to last year is expected.
