The village of S'Alqueria Blanca (in English: The White Homestead) is located in the southeast of Mallorca in the municipality of Santanyi. In S'Alqueria Blanca there are local residences and a few holiday homes. Those who spend their holidays here can sunbathe on the beautiful beaches of Cala Mondrago and Cala Sanau, which can be reached by car in a few minutes. In the small and still very sleepy village of S'Alqueria Blanca live just a thousand inhabitants live and and know the benefits of their place to enjoy. Between Santanyí and S'Alqueria Blanca lies the monastery "Oratori de la Consolació". This was built in the 16th century and is well worth a visit, just for the view. From here you have a wonderful view over the east and south coast of Majorca. Around the monastery, nature slowly reclaims this sacred place. Once a year, every year after Easter, it is quiet for a few days in the place over: At this time, the residents of Santanyi come on a pilgrimage to S'Alqueria Blanca, the locals call this Christian event "Romeria" and the Of course, visitors are invited to do the same. Every Tuesday a weekly market takes place in S'Alqueria Blanca, which attracts local tourists with fresh fruits and vegetables, clothing, leather goods and jewelry. The market takes place on the square in front of the church. Situated on a slight hill you can see the church from afar. As in many villages in Mallorca, the churches usually remain closed outside the fair. In S'Alqueria Blanca you can at least have a look through the glass door.
