The southeast of Mallorca lies in the shadow of the Serra de Llevant, the eastern mountains. On the rocky southeast coast you search in vain for long sandy beaches. Cala Mondragó and S'amarador are among the best beaches in the southeast of the island. The bay is located just 5 kilometers from the town of Santanyi and the popular seaside resort of Cala d'Or. The southeast around the Parc Natural Mondragó has just been put under protection in time. In the nature park, therefore, almost undeveloped sandy coves, lagoons, dune systems and extensive pine forests can be found.
