Foreign companies continue to invest in Mallorca

Mallorca is more attractive to investors than ever. The rents for commercial property fall, the authorities are more flexible than ever before. The purchasing power of the ever-changing international audience remains strong.

The economic situation in Spain is catastrophic. But Mallorca continues to improve and remains a shining brand. Especially foreign companies and private investors involved in the Balearic Island are stronger than ever. The demand for exclusive residential properties in prime locations is unbroken. Companies they are active on the island for years to expand into even more unprecedented scale. International companies use the opportunity and open new locations on the island. The company primarily benefit from lower prices for commercial property in Mallorca and the labour market reforms of early 2012. Ultimately the success of this company lies in the innovative ideas, quality and diligence of the staff founded.

Some examples of recent foreign investment in Mallorca:

The drugstore chain Müller has nine locations in Mallorca, there are currently several new store openings planned. Mueller employs around 200 staff in its markets on the Balearic-Island. Furthermore, Erwin Mueller is now the sole owner of the golf course Golf de Canyamel.

A piece of Borne boulevards in the Old Town moved into the possession of Sweden: An entrepreneur from Stockholm has paid 24 million euros for the old-town-palace, where in the ground floor Louis Vuitton and Inditex corporations operate shops.

To further expand its market leadership in Mallorca, wants the airline company Air Berlin relocate with the beginning of the summer schedule capacity and increase the number of flights from Germany, Austria and Switzerland to Mallorca by twelve percent. Air Berlin employs around 130 people in Majorca.

Media Markt has just opened with a 24-hour marathon bargain Mallorca its first branch, thus creating 120 permanent jobs. 

The DIY-Giant Bauhaus opens to the summer of 2013 and is currently searching qualified personnel in the domestic labour market. This will create up to 150 skilled jobs.

The Lübbecker entrepreneur Paul Gauselmann has under its Mercury brand slot machines just taken over most of the casinos on the island.

The discount supermarkets Lidl currently operates 13 stores on the island. In 2013, probably one or two stores more will be added.

But many small shops and craft shops that stand out in their approach of the mainstream writing, the black, and have continuously recorded to partially double-digit growth.
